Praying On the Road: Qibla, Solat Times and Prayer Space at Every Salaam Property

Praying On the Road: Qibla, Solat Times and Prayer Space at Every Salaam Property

Travelling should never make prayer complicated. That belief sits at the centre of how we set up every room we run, and it is the reason “Muslim-friendly” is our identity rather than a line on a facilities list.

Here is exactly what that looks like across our five properties, including the two numbers most travellers want on arrival: the qibla bearing and the JAKIM solat zone.

The numbers, property by property

In Kota Bharu, Kelantan the solat zone is KTN01 and the qibla sits at roughly 291 degrees from true north. That covers:

In Selangor the solat zone is SGR01 and the qibla sits at roughly 293 degrees. That covers:

Each property page on this site carries its own live solat times and a qibla pointer for that exact location, so you can check the day’s schedule before you even arrive.

What is waiting in the room

Every room across all five properties is prayer-ready. That means a qibla direction marked in the room and a prayer mat, ready to use the moment you put your bag down.

At Hotel Salaam Suites and Troika Residences, rooms also carry an Al-Quran. Hotel Ma’Wa goes a step further with an in-house surau, so you have a proper prayer space outside your room whenever you want one, plus halal dining downstairs at Café So’oh.

Salaam Suites is a halal-certified, Muslim-friendly hotel group, and Hotel Salaam Suites carries MFAR recognition verified by the Islamic Tourism Centre. Those marks exist so you do not have to take our word for it.

Around our properties

In Kota Bharu you are never far from a mosque. Masjid Muhammadi, the state mosque, anchors the old town, and smaller neighbourhood mosques and suraus sit within easy reach of all three of our Kelantan properties. Friday prayers there are worth experiencing, and our front desk teams will point you to the nearest one and tell you what time to leave.

In Selangor, Bell Suites sits close to the mosques of Kota Warisan and Sunsuria City, and Townhouse 591 is a short drive from several in Section 27 and the surrounding neighbourhoods. Guests catching an early flight from KLIA often ask about praying before they leave, and the answer is easy: pray in the room, then go.

Ask us anything

If you need a room facing a particular direction, an early breakfast before Subuh during Ramadan, or simply want to know how far the nearest surau is, message the property directly. We would much rather you asked than guessed.

Muslim-friendly hospitality means the details are already handled when you walk in. That is the whole idea.
