Interesting Activities for You If You Only Have One Day in Kota Bharu

If you are visiting with your family members, you will surely want to plan your holiday to make sure it is perfectly filled.

Interesting tourist spot in Kota Bharu

At the very least, you will not have to study and research every single thing in Kota Bharu to plan your trip.

Here we have helped you plan your one-day trip with your family so that your holiday is better organised.

Starting from Dawn

After the dawn prayer, you can get ready and head to a restaurant that serves breakfast. Among the famous breakfast dishes in Kota Bharu is Nasi Tumpang.

One of the restaurants famous for breakfast in Kota Bharu is Kopitiam Kita, located in Taman Desa Jaya, Kota Bharu, Kelantan.

The restaurant is often packed, so it is recommended that you come early so you do not have to wait long for breakfast.

At Kopitiam Kita, among the popular items are Nasi Tumpang, Roti Titab Special, and Teh Tarik Mantul Mantab Betul.

The food prices here are also affordable and, importantly, the portion sizes are suitable for an average-built adult.

After Breakfast

After your breakfast, you can visit the Istana Jahar Museum.

Here you can see the relics of the old Kelantanese Malay community as well as items from the Kelantan royal ceremonies.

For those who do not know, the Istana Jahar Museum is the Royal Museum of the State of Kelantan and houses various royal artefacts from the past to the present as keepsakes for its people.

The ticket prices are also affordable: RM2 for adults and RM1 for children. For visitors who do not have a myKad, the ticket price is RM4 for adults and RM2 for children.

Buying Souvenirs

In the afternoon, you can visit Pasar Siti Khadijah.

Here you can shop for souvenirs and gifts to bring home for friends, neighbours and relatives.

At Pasar Siti Khadijah there are also various traditional Kelantanese foods such as keropok lekor (fish crackers), akok (a baked egg dessert), and nasi kerabu.

The prices are reasonable and the food is delicious with an authentic Kelantanese taste. Here you can also get various interesting items such as machetes, dolls, batik fabric and songket cloth.

Let’s Go to the Beach!

In the late afternoon, you can enjoy the crashing waves and sea breeze at Pantai Cahaya Bulan. While taking in the beauty of the beach, you can enjoy a famous treat at Pantai Cahaya Bulan, Makanan Laut Celup Tepung (battered seafood).

There are also other famous foods along Pantai Cahaya Bulan such as Mee Ketam (crab noodles) and fruit cocktail. If you have young children, they can have fun at the beach while flying kites, which are also sold at Pantai Cahaya Bulan.

The strong wind conditions are very suitable for kite flying.

After that, you can also visit Taman Tengku Anis while enjoying the views there. There is also a playground for your children and exercise equipment for you.

Taman Tengku Anis is also equipped with a running track for those of you who enjoy exercising to look after your health, especially after a day of enjoying various delicious dishes in Kota Bharu.

Dinner

In the evening, you can visit Wakaf Che Yeh. Here there are various stalls selling all kinds of food and goods, just like Pasar Siti Khadijah.

The difference is that Wakaf Che Yeh at night has many food stalls, and you can enjoy various types of hot food as well as kuih (traditional cakes) at reasonable prices.

For those of you with small children, it is recommended to bring a stroller, as the Wakaf Che Yeh area is very large and there is a risk that your child may get fussy from exhaustion.

We hope our suggestions help you a little in making decisions when you visit Kota Bharu. We hope you have fun in Kota Bharu and that you are able to plan your trip perfectly.

If you are heading to Kota Bharu, you will of course need a place to stay. Hotel Ma’Wa on Jalan Pintu Pong is located right in the middle of all these attractions, with easy access to Pasar Siti Khadijah, Pantai Cahaya Bulan and the town centre. Hotel Salaam Suites meanwhile offers free breakfast and rooms from RM 128 a night.
